Hi Scot,

You have been in my prayers for a couple of months, but I am ashamed that I had fallen behind on my reading and just saw this yesterday. I wish I would have known when I saw you in Sussex. I knew you were having tests but didn't know the results. I didn't want to ask you in front of a group. I am sorry. I am sure I seemed insensitive.

In any case, thank you for writing. What you have here is very helpful and will surely be of great comfort to hundreds of people.

Yours in Christ,

Dave Petersen

Thanks, Rick for the link. I have run across the ustoo.org site but have so far been intimidated by the shear amount of info available to yet make my way through it. I will do some more digging there, especially the support chapters, and make more use of the site. I have also found the YANA site and they have some good information and forums there. Rick, may I ask what type of surgery did you have? And in your life, what lead you to the choice of that surgery over the other, and choosing surgery over radiation? If you would rather respond "off line" I would be happy for the contact at prkinnaman@scotkinnaman.com . Thanks for the dialogue!

ScotK: Hang in there. I had a radical prostatectomy in April 2008 after finding I had prostate cancer at age 47. Find a good surgeon. Detecting and dealing with prostate cancer in its early stages is the key to a full recovery. Check out www.ustoo.org, there is a ton of useful information and the group has support chapters around the country. -- Rick
